BranchAnywhere
Evanced Solutions is pleased to announce the debut of the BranchAnywhereSM prototype at PLA 2010 in Portland, OR.
This new library vending system will be powered by an industrial multi-axis robot typically used in manufacturing plants. The robot will deliver books and audiovisual materials to patrons from the storage shelves in the machine. It will also re-shelve those same materials to the machine when
returned by the patron for check-out by the next person.
BranchAnywhere will offer the ability for libraries to place fully unattended mini-libraries out in their communities at a fraction of the cost of adding a branch.
BranchAnywhere Features:
- Optimization to support multi-collection types: BranchAnywhere has the ability to support most common library materials of various sizes: bigger/thicker fiction/non-fiction, DVDs, paperbacks, books on CD, Playaways, and even children’s picture books.
- Three options include: Multi-Material Machine, DVD Machine, and Book-Only Machine
- Standard footprint will be about 4.75′ deep by 6.5′ wide by 7’ tall
- Software and user-interface focus on ease of use and “ATM like” usability.
- Will continue to grow and change as we take input and advice from our customers and move out of the prototype phase
