Cheating = bad Cheat Sheets = good
Cheating is bad. Like when people try to visit different library branches to pick up multiple summer reading prizes – bad! Or when you’re at a conference and you’re pretty sure your train pass has officially expired but you need to get the airport and you get on the train anyway and hope for the best. Not that I’ve ever done that – bad!
But cheat sheets – cheat sheets can be good! Very good! For instance, let’s say you have a large crew of volunteers that help you with summer reading and you want to give them the information they need to reward prizes to patrons though Summer Reader – good! Or you need your staff to remember how to use Events in certain ways so you create a one page document that helps them to remember the steps – good!
We found a great cheat sheet from Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Libraries. You can view it here: http://www.hcplc.org/hcplc/happenings/calendar_tips.pdf
