Fall Reading and End Zone Touchdown Dances

Okay, so maybe this post doesn’t really have anything to do with touchdown dances. However, it is football season and we noticed that Cuyahoga County Library has teamed up with the Cleveland Browns to kickoff a Fall Reading program. You can view the program here by clicking here.

And don’t forget that you can still sign up for our Fall Reading for Libraries programs. It’s a great way for library staff members to win prizes for themselves for a change!

In the meantime, you can practice your “I reached my fall reading goal” celebration dance and take some pointers from these guys…

Evanced Events Importer Drupal Module is Ready!

On Monday, September 20, we were excited to receive this email, sent by the Worthington Public Libraries (Ohio).

Thank you for your interest in the Evanced Events Importer Drupal module.  I’m delighted to announce that an alpha version of the module is now available for download on drupal.org: http://drupal.org/project/evanced_events_importer

We hope you will download it, give it a try and share your feedback!  We welcome co-maintainers to help us maintain and enhance the module in the future—please get in touch if you’d like to work with us.

Happy events importing!

We are excited for this new module and can’t wait to see how other libraries use it to bring together Events and Drupal.  If you have any questions, you can contact Kara Reuter at kreuter@worthingtonlibraries.org.

Congratulations, Worthington Libraries!  And thank you for being an important part of the Evanced community!

Retro Fall Reading for Libraries!

Not old-school card catalog and poodle skirt retro…just bubble gum pink and minty green, I promise. I found so many great retro photos that I just knew…knew…that we needed to be sarcastically retro this Fall.

excited Retro Fall Reading for Libraries!

So here are the rules…

  • registration begins now and ends November 1
  • Fall reading logs open on September 22 and close on November 30
  • the program goal is 50 hours or 3000 minutes
  • any combination of books, magazines/journals, movies, CDs, recorded books, etc. qualifies toward the reading goal
  • if you reach the goal you qualify for a random drawing for a $100 Amazon gift card (1st place) or a $50 Amazon gift card
  • however, we’ve improved your odds of winning this year…even if you only reach 50% of the goal but also contribute at least one review, you’ll qualify for a random drawing for one of four prize packs from anntaintor.com or knocknock.biz.  (you even get to choose which one!  holy moly!)
