Summer Reader Showcase

Interested in seeing what libraries are up to with Summer Reader?  Check out our Summer Reader Showcase here!

The libraries you see here were chosen because they used graphics, colors, font, or software features in ways that make the most of Summer Reader.  The use of white space created some very dynamic pages and we really like how functions such as group registration and the ability to translate programs into Spanish and French is enabled.

If you’re a Summer Reader customer and would think we should add your site to the 2010 Showcase, please email cayar@evancedsolutions.com for more information. If you’re interested in learning more about the product, contact Sales at sales@evancedsolutions.com

You can click here:

to view all BranchAnywhere related webinars.

The top most link will take you to a Windows Media file that will allow you to watch the webinar from June 2, in case you missed it. The introductory information was cut out and it starts with the machine description and continues from there. We’re working on getting it posted to YouTube as well.

Cheating = bad Cheat Sheets = good

Cheating is bad.  Like when people try to visit different library branches to pick up multiple summer reading prizes – bad!  Or when you’re at a conference and you’re pretty sure your train pass has officially expired but you need to get the airport and you get on the train anyway and hope  for the best.  Not that I’ve ever done that – bad!

But cheat sheets – cheat sheets can be good!  Very good!  For instance, let’s say you have a large crew of volunteers that help you with summer reading and you want to give them the information they need to reward prizes to patrons though Summer Reader – good!  Or you need your staff to remember how to use Events in certain ways so you create a one page document that helps them to remember the steps – good!

We found a great cheat sheet from Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Libraries.  You can view it here: http://www.hcplc.org/hcplc/happenings/calendar_tips.pdf

You can also see other examples on our website of cheatsheets by clicking here:

Does your library create handy cheat sheets for staff or public use?  Share them with us!  You can email them to me at the address below or attach a link in the comments section of this post.
